I have been informed that sadly Ron Gascoigne passed away on Wednesday (17 July) whilst in the Horton hospital. He was a long standing member of the club and did a lot of work on the green during this time. He was well known around the local clubs and also Banbury Indoor Club.
I have also been informed that he was a farrier in the village. Farriers Road is named after the forge that was in the garden of his cottage when his father was also a farrier in the village.
Ron Gascoigne's funeral will be held on Tuesday 13th August and has been changed to an earlier time of 11am, not 12 noon as originally notified at Steeple Barton church.
