I am sad to report that one of Witney Mills longest serving members Charlie Fisher passed away on January 6th.
Charlie was a life member of the Club and had played for the Mills for over 40 years, a feat that few in any Club in the County could match.
He was one of the few players still playing that had played at the original green of Witney Mills, a picture on the Witney Mills website history section proving the fact.
A character in every sense of the word, he was still a good bowler up until the 2019 season which proved to be his last before the arrival of Covid and then his own poor health meant he could no longer bowl.
If he wasn’t playing , he was usually supporting any teams playing in Mills colours and he will be sadly missed .
His funeral will take place on Thursday January 26th at 1.30 pm at Methodist Church in High Street Witney, with a wake afterwards at West Witney Sports and Social Club, which everyone will be welcome to attend.
Regards
Chris
