Peter Fitzgerald

Chris Weller writes: When I began playing at Kidlington in the early 1990's Peter was very much the man to beat in Club Competitions, winning at least one if not more trophies every year. He was also the winner in 1995 of the Champion of Champions competition.

He played in a number of County friendlies and was renowned for his deadly firing, if shots were stacked against him!

Peter continued to play the game well into his nineties, and although not skipping, was still a very reliable lead.

My abiding memory of Peter though will be his wonderful sportsmanship, always generous with praise if you had played a good shot, and forever gracious if you did manage to beat him.
