Open letter sent to Club Secretaries, dated 2 April 2023
As you all know, last year Michel Grossnickel started a dedicated Facebook page for the Bowls Big Weekend putting all Clubs in the County on this page, with the dates they were having their Open days, within or outside the dates of the Big Bowls Weekend.
Also, it was put on different Event websites Nationwide and in the County. For the Facebook page, paid advertisements were done (paid for by Michel). The reach of these paid advertisements was 15,000 Facebook users in the County and there was a significant increase in membership for many clubs seen over the Big Bowls Weekend and other Open Days. The concept proved to be successful.
This year the County would like to run this campaign again, however we ask clubs who want to participate for a one-off fee of £10 to be paid to the County Treasurer, John Hurren. The OBA don't want to Michel to pay for the whole thing again, as we don't want him to be out of pocket.
What will you get for paying this fee?
- You will be listed on the Facebook page as a participating club with the date(s) you have planned for your open days, during, or outside the dates of the Big Bowls Weekend.
- Minimum of 2 paid advertisements on Facebook for the posting of your own Club on the Facebook page
- Paid advertisements on Facebook to promote the Facebook Page in the County.
- Full update on the result of your Club’s performance and the general performance of the paid advertising.
If you want your Club to participate but would like more information before you decide, please make this known before April 15th to:
