BOWLS OXFORDSHIRE LADIES

YOUR COUNTY NEEDS YOU

BOL is in danger of being forced to cease operations unless new volunteers come forward to help in the administration of the day to day running of the county’s activities.

Every year all affiliated bowlers have the opportunity to enter county competitions.  Handbooks are issued detailing the calendar for the season, contact names and numbers for all competitors together with rules and regulations etc.  Greens are booked for semi finals and finals, for unbadged competitions and all other one day competitions.  Results are recorded and added to the web site so that everyone is kept informed of results and details of their next challenger.  All this information does not come together without a lot of work on the part of a few dedicated people.

This year (mainly due to Covid) has been a very difficult year for those organising your bowling activities with other counties cancelling games or insisting on games being played later in the season hoping for an improvement in the Covid situation.  Jeanette Berry, your County Secretary, has done a sterling job in putting together the county calendar in these difficult circumstances and making the arrangements for all county games and competitions to proceed as smoothly as possible.  On your behalf we wish to thank Jeanette for all the work involved in organising all of these events.

County President(s):  BOL is currently in need of a President for 2022 together with a Senior Vice President and a Junior Vice President.

Treasurer:  Margaret Morris has been your Treasurer since 2015 but is intending to stand down at the end of next season (2022), therefore a new treasurer will be required to start that role for the 2023 season.  Many thanks to Margaret for all her hard work.

Competition Secretary(s):  BOL has not had a dedicated Competition Secretary in recent years.  This season Jeanette has acted as competition secretary (alongside her role as County Secretary) and has carried out those duties in an exemplary manner attending county semi-finals and finals together with each Walker Cup game.  However this extra responsibility has proved to be a step too far and Jeanette will not be able to continue with these extra duties in the future.  We therefore need someone to come forward to take on the role of County Competition Secretary.  Please note this role could be split and shared if two people are willing to help.

Please be aware that without a County Competition Secretary there will be no County Competitions organised in future years.

For further information regarding any of the above roles, please contact Jeanette Berry on 01993 704374 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
