The Walker Cup team played a steady game against a strong Surrey team. One shot ahead at 10 ends and steadily pullling away to a good win of 41 shots to 28 to secure a place in the Regional Finals next Sunday at Egham BC where they will play first against Hampshire who won their match against Middlesex. Another win in the afternoon would see them through to Leamington for the National Finals but all to play for. Well done to all of you. A great game to watch and support.

Helen's triple got to grips with game and soon took command with plenty of conversion shots to win through to the semi finals.
In a very tight game Carol Gaskins triple, with lead Jane Bunning and two Lorraine Gaskins fought to an extra end with Thame skipped by Frances Goodyear, lead Heather Hallchurch and Sharon Heafey at two, winning through to the semi finals.
Another tightly fought match with Angela Ives skipping, lead Margaret Morris and two Annie Gilkes played against a Kidlington trio of Mauren Cox (skip), lead Joy Williams, two Emma Dickson resulted in a win for Banbury Borough.

Semi Finals
Helen Young's triple took command of the game until the Thame triple got control of the mat after 10 ends to show why they had reached the semi finals but to no avail and lost to Banbury with a final score of 15 shots to 22.
The other semi final was a hard fought battle, also in very difficult hot conditions with a two shot difference at 16 ends with Banbury Borough getting the upper hand on the last two ends to win 19-13.
So the final will see Banbury Central play Banbury Borough for a trip to the Nationals at Leamington.
Many thanks must go to the Chestnuts team for their hospitality, plenty of cold water and food at lunchtime.  They looked after us and it is much appreciated.

Played at Sutton BC, Surrey.

Plenty of enthusiasm and positive play but unfortunately the game did not go our way and the overall result was a loss of 107 shots for BOL and 144 for Sussex, with a win on two rinks.

A big thank you to Sutton for their hospitality, especially after the match when we extended our stay  in the bar due a delay with the coach broken down and a very late return to Oxford.

Thanks to the team for their cheerfulness and fortitude.
